The Kitchen

​

The Pool House features a fully equipped kitchen with convection stove, microwave, full size refrigerator, and dishwasher. We love to cook and have supplied the Pool House with high quality tri-ply cookware and other kitchen equipment you will need to create delicious - or quick and convenient - meals and snacks. A toaster and Keurig and Mr. Coffee coffee makers with locally roasted coffee and a selection of teas will wake you up in the morning. A drawer filled with herbs and spices can be found inside the lower cabinet to the left of the sink. Place mats, napkins, table service, and barware are supplied for formal or informal dining.

In season, the herb and vegetable gardens are yours to harvest for your meals.

You can dine on the gated front porch, in the shaded patio, or in inside in air conditioned comfort on the drop leaf table.

The Bathroom​

​

The bathroom has a rain shower with a hand shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers. Pima cotton towels and bathrobes are provided; a towel warmer is tucked behind the door and more towels are in the teak bin under the stool. Grab bars and an oversized door makes the bathroom accessible and safe. A washer/dryer with detergent complete the bathroom.

The Bedroom

The luxurious bedroom is appointed with a Danish king bed and bureau and a comfortable Ekormes leather recliner. The room has a TV with ethernet connection to the web and USB ports on each side of the bed. Books are provided for your reading pleasure.

 

Silky high thread count pima cotton percale sheets, a Primaloft  comforter in a microfiber duvet, and a variety of hypoallergenic pillows dress the bed. The lustrous walnut wall panels were custom milled from timber on the Brown's family farm a few miles from Carbondale.

Technology and Relaxation​

​

Upstairs the half story features a 50 inch television linked by ethernet to the web, board games, a futon couch, and a work desk. The Jens Risom chairs can be easily moved to configure the space your needs for work or play.

​

The cottage is a smart home with high speed wi-fi  available throughout the cottage. In addition to a keyless door lock, Google Home will answer your questions and stream your favorite radio stations. For a longer stay, the Nest thermostat can be programmed to your schedule; it also easily meets your immediate needs for heating or cooling. 

​

The house and grounds are designed for safety and accessibility, although there are some low low steps, uneven bricks, and small spaces that are not convenient for wheel chairs.
